Yesterday was concert-a-gogo.
I saw Third Eye Blind play at Northwestern's Dillo Day, a Woodstockesque event with people flinging mud at each other and dancing serenely in bare feet. I was just enjoying the beautiful weather and the free concert, but most of the other students were wasted and being silly. It was fun.
Later that night, I saw my friend's friend's band, Santa, play at the Abbey Pub downtown. They were surprisingly good-- I was bopping along to all the songs. Apparently their EP is on iTunes, which might be investigateable.
Thanks to Dillo Day, I came away with some free issues of Time Out Chicago. One of them was a special festivals edition, so I picked out about 10 things I need to experience for sure this summer. Unfortunately, the Faerie Festival is at least an hour away. It probably won't compare to my personal favorite, the Bristol Renaissance Faire, so I'll skip it this year.
Also looking forward to? James Taylor at Ravinia. There's literally nothing more summery and amazing than lawn seats, a picnic, and copious amounts of wine. I love that place.
