What's Wrong With SoHo?

I went to a career informational center last night and got to talking to a Boston-based agency. It's a pretty well-known place, and they do good work, and I asked them about their other offices. Specifically, what's up with the New York agency? Because uh... New York is better. The lady laughed and said it's a tiny branch, and if they mentioned it at info sessions, she'd have a line out the door with people who wanted to "move to Manhattan and work in SoHo."

I just sort of smiled awkwardly, laughed, and then slipped her my resumé and peaced out.
