My friend Courtney visited this weekend, and I think we did good. Good meaning, I managed to eventually take her to the main spots in and around the city. We went to Oktoberfest in Harvard Square, and had some amazing beer and sausages. It was insanely crowded, but fighting for a place to drink your beer is made slightly sweeter by the people in costumes putting on parades and the delicious Oktoberfest brews.
We also had lunch with two other girls from the Paris program. It was nice to see them after such a long time. One of the girls lived with my current roommate, and I remember getting really great, relatively cheap dinners together down the street from our places. I miss living by the Canal St. Martin-- hopefully, I'll have plenty of time, in the future, to explore the rest of the teeny restaurants bordering each side. There was one pizza place in particular, with some kind of pink flamingo theme. It was on the opposite side of the canal and so I only passed it a few times. I just remember the fairy lights and the fuchsia walls.
The leaves that I missed changing colors are falling now. So strange! I want some orange leaves or else I refuse for it to become winter. So there.
