SoHo Fo Sho

Duuuude it's all about Carnaby Street! After a visit to the Brand Museum in Notting Hill for class (Go! It's awesome!), I walked ever so slowly east, took a short jaunt through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, forded Oxford Street, and then ended up at Liberty.

A new substitute for Le Bon Marché? Perhaps. It's not as wickedly, OTT upper class, but it comes pretty damn close. I have heard about the store, but what made me go in was the building itself. It seems to be modeled on a Tudor-style house, complete with dark timbers and whitewash. My first impression of their goods was a small corner filled with vintage Chanel and Hermes bags. My personal favorite was the 3,000+ pound Kelly from the 30s... Technically speaking, a croc-skin Kelly from the store today would go for about triple that price, so if I was British and happened to have a steady job and a supportive bank, I would consider it.

I went upstairs and found the shoes. After drifting around for a bit and sighing out loud, I found the "sale" rack: "sale" because the prices were nearly 50% off the originals, meaning they had just about reached retail price in American dollars. I tried on a pair of Miu Miu shoes with my black tights.

They're very similar to these, only they are a bit more closed in on each side, with a zipper to make the sides snug against your ankle.

I tottered around for about 5 minutes and then sadly took them off. One day. ONE DAY!

In search of my Frédéric Fekkai hair cream, I followed the shop lady's instructions to Carnaby St. Which is sort of badass. Completely forgetting my quest, I went down a side street and BAM! came face-to-face with BBH. One of the bad-asseyist ad agencies in the world. Sigh.
I hung out for a bit and just stared, laughing about the cute little black sheep, their logo, hanging off the side like a pub sign. I noticed the security guards looking at me from inside, so I did a pivot and continued walking around.

Now I know that SoHo is where it's at. Fo sho.
